I’m so excited to finally show off Ms. Penelope’s nursery!
When I first started thinking about Penelope’s nursery, my main priority was to have everything look elegant, whimsical and versatile. I knew our clients wanted a room that was a little girlie but not over the top girlie and a space she wouldn’t outgrow anytime soon.
We started the design process by choosing a large, magical mural from Anthropologie as the main focal point for the room. It is the showstopper of the room for sure! This whimsical backdrop let us layer other patterns and neutral colors on top, while still feeling interesting. On each side of the mural are a pair of the sweetest brass bow sconces that add just the right amount girlieness.
The feminine crystal chandelier adds a layer of sophisticated elegance to the space and the oversized medallion brings the drama level up a notch. This modern but timeless light has enough versatility to illuminate her room for years to come.
For the windows we used black out roman shades in a white linen color with mauve velvet drapery. I think shades and drapery are one of the best ways to elevate a room. The dresser we chose can double as a changing table and has the prettiest detailing and will compliment any new big girl bed once she outgrows her crib.
And speaking of cribs, our clients chose to go with a Nestig crib and we choose a pale pink color that adds the slightest contrast to the enchanting mural. I wish this crib was around when I had babies because it seriously took us 5 minutes to put together. Five minutes, y’all!!! It’s amazing!
Next, we added a cozy boucle glider chair, a blue ottoman and a wood side table, perfect for placing a bottle. The neutral rugs grounds the space and adds a subtle pattern that feels grown up enough to stay with her over the years.
This nursery was so fun to create and a little part of me wishes it was my room. Haha! Not completely joking though. Little P, is one lucky sweet babe and I feel honored that our clients trusted us to create such a special space for their first baby.
I’ve linked as many possible items as I could below. Some items were sourced from our trade only supplier, so if you don’t see a link for a certain item…that’s why. 🙂
